Rockies Activate Antonio Senzatela

Antonio Senzatela to Join Rockies Rotation

The Rockies have activated right-hander Antonio Senzatela from the 15-day injured list, per a team announcement Monday. To make room on the roster, Colorado optioned left-hander Lucas Gilbreath to Triple-A Albuquerque. Senzatela, 26, missed the beginning of the 2021 season with a torn ACL in his left knee after a non-baseball incident in January.

Senzatela Was 4-3 With a 4.42 ERA in 2020

MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports Senzatela will make his first start of the season Wednesday against the Mariners in Seattle. In 10 starts last year, Senzatela went 4-3 with a 4.42 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 62 strikeouts in 55 1/3 innings. The Venezuelan has a 4.59 ERA in 101 career starts.

Gilbreath Made One Relief Appearance This Year

Gilbreath, 26, made one relief appearance for the Rockies this season, giving up one run on a hit and two walks in one inning of work last Wednesday against the Diamondbacks. The southpaw was claimed off waivers from the Orioles on July 27.
